One Year - Devin Daniels Brown

I’ll never forget this week and how it changed my life and just one year ago today!

Jan. 28th, Wednesday. Week 35 of our pregnancy.

That evening I experienced the first of a motioning as if my body was moving up and down. It was brief, but sudden. I was concerned and Chris was at my side! I went straight to our bedroom and made a phone call to my Mother inlaw who instructed me to call my Doctor. I did and spoke to the Doctor on call, explaining what I had felt only to be told I need to take it easy and elevate my feet. I was quick to accept everything was normal and not second guess, despite what I felt deep down inside. Chris soon had a meeting at school that night and needed to leave. We arranged my younger sister to come over and keep me company. Once Chris left I decided to leave the bedroom and spend time in the family room. I remember instantly feeling a deep emptiness, for the first time in so long I felt completely alone!! I felt worried not that something was wrong, but this feeling of loneliness would exist once I was a stay at home Mom with our son. I didn't understand what I was feeling was something I was literally experiencing!

Thursday morning Jan. 29th, after feeling a brief motioning come over me again, I knew I needed to get checked and didn’t prolong it. I asked my sister to drive me since Chris was at school, I wish my husband was with me, but I felt confident after past appointments leading up to this moment being told his heartbeat, the ultrasound and measuring was all perfect and expected everything would be fine.

The appointment consisted of checking my blood pressure and the nurse instructed me to take the day off, I walked out and got as far as the door to only stop, this time It wasn’t me, I felt completely overcome by the spirit and was turned around in my steps! I didn’t know what I was doing, there wasn’t time to think, but I walked straight back to the nurse and asked to be checked. I know that I was prompted every moment of that day!

The afternoon quickly became a nightmare and continued into the next day.Our life changed before our eyes! Just weeks shy of his due date, our glow that came from expecting was quickly diminished! We didn’t suspect, plan or prepare for this; our life literally became gray!

Friday Jan. 30th I delivered our sweet little boy! Our first and only son was no longer with us! I cared for him, loved him, did all I could do with him in mind and the best intentions, but life stood still that day empty of his life!!!

I never imagined my family to begin like this! The pain we have to face daily knowing our baby isn't with us will always continue throughout our life. Some days It hurts more then others, some moments I need my husbands countless hugs to help me move forward! Words can not emphasize such an experiences as losing a child!

Our eyes could hardly focus from tears that filled the hours and days of unbelief! Cord complications stopped us short of our dream!

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

How true this scripture is! Amongst the sadness, we were constantly administered by heavens angles! We felt are parents who had passed constantly at our side and others who love us blessed us daily!! I don't know if we're aware before this life the struggles we would face, but our brave little boy to lead the way has given us strength to be as he is and to return to him someday!!

My mind wanders if things were different, If I had delivered 3 days earlier, his healthy cry we might of heard..... I am constantly redirecting my emotions to know our Heavenly Father was in control! He was aware we would endure our sons loss with faith. As impossible as it may seem, He knew the Savior would be our corner stone of our home! What a loving Father in Heaven we have to be so mindful of our needs to know we would love our son even if his life was shorten, He knew we would not be angry and all the tears would bring us to our knees in thanks!! He knew of the love we have would grow and strengthen our family! We are being prepared for the eternities and receiving blessings from on high to enter our life daily!

We are so fortunate to have been trusted with such a pure spirit that needn’t be tested! Even at our lowest and loneliest of times we were constantly being strengthened to rise to our potential! Our Heavenly Father knew us better then we knew ourselves! I know of His love He has for me, my husband and our sweet boy and his little sister on the way! We would not be where we are today without the Gospel in our lives! I am reminded of those who have lived before me and perhaps for a glimpse, I felt as my Father in Heaven might of with having our Savior placed on this earth, how he must of missed Him, but how rewarding and grateful I am for the Atonement!

Words such as these bring peace to mind.

One is not only to endure, but to endure well and gracefully those things which the Lord "seeth fit to inflict upon [us]" (Mosiah 3:19).

Patience permits us to cling to our faith in the Lord when we are tossed about by suffering as if by surf. When the undertow grasps us, we will realize that even as we tumble we are somehow being carried forward; we are actually being helped even as we cry for help.

Its hard to believe 12 months have passed and soon years will follow, but no matter the countless nights of utter disbelief, we know He is near!

Wk 34!

Week 34 is here! Friday Jan. 23rd I had my routine exam. Everything looks well; I'm right where I should be with size and putting on the lbs. However one shocker was our due date is March 9th and how we got March 6th at the beginning was a rough estimate? I wouldn't mind the 9th since it's my Grandma Culotta's birthday and what a wonderful person to share the date with!

Baby boy Brown was a bit stubborn letting us hear his heartbeat, but no worries, between all the moving and stretching he does, I wasn't concerned and sure enough the Doc found it!

Other then that my days are narrowing down at the dental office. My feet resemble plums by the end of each day, leaving me incredibly excited for my last day.... Scheduled Feb 12th 2009!

As for the weekend we were dumped with snow and unfortunately the same this morning. It's a bit difficult to go anywhere, I resemble an elderly person when I walk, with every tiny step I give my best efforts to avoid slipping. Since the Doc. said if I fall again I'd need to be monitored for 4hrs at the hospital and since I've already experienced falling 3 times I rather not relive those unfortunate moments.

Meanwhile I have baby shower this Sat. in Ogden I'm looking forward to and the following in Provo! So much to look forward to, just gathering with friends and family at both will be good times to come!! Other then that I'll try to update some photos later this week or of the shower itself!

Baby Shower - WK 33

Baby Showers are in the making.

For a second there I got completely nervous since I didn't hear any plans being made. I hope that doesn't sound greedy, but since you only have your first once, I was hoping for a shower. Since friends and family have briefly mentioned the idea, nothing was ever set in stone. So I figured with 7wks left, I better be prepared so just incase someone is up for the challenge I'll have addresses to give them. Being organized seemed to ruin the suprise party that was being planned and as soon as Tiffany and Mallory got word that I was arranging addresses they figured they'd tell me. How lame am I. I'm incredibly sad I messed up plans.

Anyways, I'm incredibly grateful for my 2 sisters for taking on the task as well as many of my cousins! There's also another one being planned in Ogden area by my sister inlaws for family and friends in that area. Between the both, everything sounds completely wonderful!

Other then that week 33 is in full swing and all is going well! I'll try to update again soon, but that does it for this entry!

WEEK 32!

Last Friday I had my monthly appointment that will now be every 2weeks. My pregnancy seems to be going as it should, I'm 2cm off, but nothing to worry over. I have a feeling it's from the cold I had and the lack of nutrition, especially since my latest crave has been a very simple Campbell’s soup!

Meanwhile, I'm feeling rather left out with activities to do, no skiing, snowmobiling, snow-man making, hiking and most especially.. skating. I'm finding out the hard way that standing doesn't come naturally. Rather during my free time you can find me watching movies, eating and doing some reading. I feel like the epitome of laziness, but it's all for a good cause!

We can hardly wait for 7wks to get here!! To have and to hold!!! We love our little baby boy Brown so much!

Other then that the name game has been on our mind and it's driving us crazy. I have 2 books, one has over 60,000 names and other has just as many. You think we'd be able to find the right name, but it's rather intimidating to know what we'll name him is something he'll go by for THE REST OF HIS LIFE! No pressure of course. We're leaning toward Devin and possibly Quincy as the middle name. Our goal is to have at least 2 - 3 picked out by our due date!

For those of you who are brilliant at this sort of thing and perhaps even had experience, be sure to share your talent with us and we'll be happy to consider all options!!

WEEK 31

Baby Boy Brown seems to be as excited as we are for March 6th! We can't believe how much he pokes out, day or night, he'll stretch as he wishes. Anytime I feel a need to complain I think of those before me who have experienced it amongst some of the worst conditions. So as the weeks narrow down and my back starts to feel the load and lacking sleep, life is still very good! The comforts of being home helps, taking a bath, eating as I wish... These are a few of my fav. things!

6 weeks left of work then I can stay off my feet and help my diet of no sugars help me get ready for our Baby Boys arrival. (My Mother-in-law told me if you eat less sugar products a week before your due date, the contractions will be less strong, rather if you don’t the first can be as strong as the last) It helps having her close by and always a phone call away to answer my questions, as a registered nurse and Mother of 12!

Christmas was wonderful and my Mother-in-law surprised me with a beautiful rocker I had my eye on! My sister and her family gave us a baby swing for the nursery along with many goodies that will come in handy. As for my wonderful husband... He gave me a video camera so memories can be recorded of our new little family!

Other then that the name game has been on our minds and hopefully within the next couple weeks we'll have 2 for sure names to pick from!!! Any ideas let us know?

Nothing but a weakling!

Yesterday evening didn't end up as I wished. I found myself amongst the royal porcelain thrown, despite I've avoided it at all causes during this pregnancy. It marks the 4th time in 6months and hopefully the last. I felt fine afterwards, just incredibly weak and lacked motivation to do anything with such a low energy level. The same has continued through today and I don't mind it just so long our Baby Boy Brown is healthy!

Other then that, I mentioned a couple weeks back I found a great deal for a Coach Diaper Bag/Multi Tote purse. ( price-range of $30) I came home during lunch and found it at our door step!!

Glucose TEST!!!

I had to take the glucose test yesterday! I made sure it was first thing in the morning to get it over with, but now I'm hesitant if I did the right thing. It said to gulp down in 10mins. I did it in less then 2mins. I didn't want to linger it any longer. It tasted similar to orange-soda and off we went to have me tested. Shots aren't fun, but I wont complain after all my Mom went through. I'm measured right on the dot and the Doc. kindly complemented my perfect pregnancy or rather being right where I should be on track..I'm just grateful we're both healthy!

I went to work right after and found myself suddenly getting sick to my stomach! It wasn't consistent, but came as it wishes. I got off around 4:30 feeling well, picked Chris up at school and headed to SLC to shadow a court-case he needed for his final in Construction Law. Half ways there I got so sick again and it didn't leave me this time. So much for our plans to see the lights and eat out. We made it home around 7:30. I fell asleep and was woken to home made noodle soup by 9:00! I love my husband!

This morning I woke up feeling better. I guess the point of this random entry is although the glucose test wasn't terrible, the worst is getting it completely washed out of my system.

Note: My pregnancy been great so when surprising moments fall along the road, It completely catches me off guard. Every bit worth the feeling of my Baby Boy Brown kicking and actively moving! We can't wait to hold him and this morning Chris had the opportunity to put his ear close and hear his heartbeat! Best wishes toward week 28!!

Week 27

I found this photo very appropriate for this entry. Sat. evening I was doing errands none-stop, bridal shower and ended the evening at my Mother in-laws home attending a Christmas Party. My feet were completely swollen and in so much pain by 10:00 I could barely stand! Chris is amazing though and made up the bed for me so I could be level and give the blood circulation moving again.

I've treated my legs and feet poorly from skating the past 15yrs, which includes many times freezing them to the point of no return! This has left small points that remain numb, nothing like the whole foot thank goodness! I'm usually the type to bare the pain, but the motivation to do so is hardly reachable lately.

Can you believe I have 13weeks left? Time is passing us so fast!! I'm trying to soak in every moment of this pregnancy! You only have the first once and as Thomas S Monson mentioned along the lines that we're given one opportunity to live, so I better enjoy these years before their gone!

Chris is going to make such a wonderful Dad, he's finishing painting the crib and dresser Friday, preparing us for the move in 3 weeks! I love my husband and last nights 2 hour conversations driving back to Provo regarding goals we have in raising our children give me so much to look forward to! (One thing he's determined to do is sit down with them on an individual bases regularly to see how church, school, sports....are going in their life. Something my Dad use to do with each of us kids was take us on a date of our choice, I value the relationship I have with my Dad and hope this new generation will feel the same toward Chris and myself!)

Other then that Wed I have the glucose test, wish me luck! If anyone has any pointers to get it down and what to eat the 12hrs, feel free to share!!

STRETCH....head, sholders, knees and toes!

My stomach is getting bigger as we speak! The weight doesn’t seem to be ending up anywhere else on me, but the load can be felt everywhere to say the least. When I eat, I eat and if there isn’t room, I feel like I stretch to make it fit! Lotion has become my best friend and long soothing showers to relieve the pressure.

Monday was a big shopping day for the internet, thats what the news mentioned at least. One eBay I had a 10% discount toward anything, including shipping and handling. I came across a Coach Diaper bag for a great deal and completed the bid at the price of $46! I'm not spending crazy, the weeks are narrowing down and preparation for our move and setting up the nursery is in the making! I feel like there were only 3 things I personally wanted to pick out that I'd be using daily and this was on my list!

Tues. night Chris skipped his 2hr class and took me to the University String Orchestra! We were so impressed. I love classical music so much! The whole time I was as much taken back by the music as I was by the baby moving! He seemed to enjoy every moment of the performance... Perhaps we have a musician in the making!

Thank heavens for Thanksgiving.

I love holidays and what better then food-gallooooor this coming Thur. marking week 26!!!

Friday I went shopping with a friend and came back with a couple little outfits, I am such a fan of kid-2-kid and the great deals there. Little designers that someone else might of paid $30+ for a shirt, I get for $5.00!

Also, I'm pleased to say Christmas cards have been sent today and a photo included in each one. It's something that is becoming yearly and fun to give everyone an update on our life and how much we love you all. With that being said, my belly is a bit more then last years picture! Here are a couple Chris took on the side of our photo-shoot.

Week 25

Week 25 is here and I figured it would be fun to add some photos. Meanwhile reading what's to come during this week and what is taking place take a looker...

"This week they’ll be scootching slowly out of the old breech position and start rotating (already!) into a better position for exit during their birth. Their head and feet are slowly rotating so that the head is pointed down towards the birth canal. Time is short (or really long, depending on who you ask)—just (still!) 14 weeks left before you can go back to being a single-resident human. "

Everything is coming up so fast, I need to keep calm and take everyday as it comes. On a brighter note last week I picked Chris up from school and there he stood with a beautiful rose that had a cute card that said "Congrats on the Baby Boy" Then a sweet note below that read "I love you!" I love him too and no words can explain the happiness he brings to me!!

Last Wed. I found out a bit more than I expected during my typical monthly exam...such as I gained 9lbs. in 3 weeks!! Goodness me. No worries though, it's all healthy and I measured a week over size-wise! I couldn't be any happier with this pregnancy. We're completely shocked with how much my stomach has grown over the past month and much bonding is already taking place, with every kick there's constant contentment and as much excitement.

Overall our week has been eventful and much baby preparation taking place, everything from the delivery of the bedding set that is everything we hoped it would be, including much needed maternity pants that fit me so well, I’m excited to leave my comfy lounge pants at home!

Last note: I went to the SLC Temple on Friday and walking through the doors a lady commented to me "Oh good, you brought the baby!" this has brought a smile to my face.

Christopher Robbin

I gave Chris a nick-name before we even started dating and since then it's stuck. (Christopher Robbin!!) I've always thought it would be cute to have a boy and have a couple things around his room with the classic pooh/Christopher Robbin theme! Even if our plans are to give him another name, I think it would still look pretty cute! We'll have to see what sort of things I can come up with!

Yesterday evening Chris had a late class and while waiting in the car I noticed Baby Boy of mine was moving tons! So instead of listening to the radio, I turned it off and figured I'd see if he reacts with my voice. At first I figured it was lucky timing, but after a 1/2 hour of feeling the most of him when I laughed or sang, I'm pretty sure he's as aware of me as I am of him! I'm so grateful already for his company and we can hardly wait for what's too come!

I'm on my way to my appointment, typical exam, but nothing more exciting then hearing his heartbeat!!

Week 23 with much on my mind!

Week 23 is here and I've had a lot of my mind...skating mostly and how hard I'm working as a coach. I'm always careful, but plans are the end of Nov. I'll be hanging up my skates for the rest of this pregancy. Without jumping I feel bored and same with spining. It's so hard to be in the rink and not of the rink, do you get what I'm saying? As much as I crave this blessed sport, life has took a turn for the better and my newest passion is our baby! Although plans are to teach him how to skate once he learns to walk, it's a must, but no pressure beyond that!

Something else I'm trying to consider is when to stop working. I enjoy being around my co-workers, but the 2 days I'm a dental assistant my feet can feel the load. Meanwhile the 2 days I'm at the front desk I don't seem to mind at all, but since I don't get the choice of working part-time I need to give them a heads up by this month what I'll be doing!

We're leaning toward the 2nd week in Feb. or last week in Jan. Any idea's? I'd love to here what others have done in the past?

Week 22

I came across the baby bedding of my dreams, I adore it's simple style. The problem was bidding on it at the right time without spending tons of money, stinken ebay! To my surprise after 2 attempts on the same style, I won it for $51.00!!! It’s so cute and such a good deal for all 9 pieces it comes with!

21 Weeks

Am I over excited or what, but I can hardly wait for March 6th to get here!

The more kicks I feel throughout the day, the happier I am! It’s a constant reminded of my baby boy & what's to come!

Also my size is coming in quite nicely. At the beginning of the pregnancy I lost 10lbs. My eating habits hardly changed and my only answer to the drastic weight lose is the baby was given a majority of the nutrient my body usually got. I am a first timer and all, but good news is I'm not only passed my normal weight, but I've gained double of whatever I lost!!

Any helpful hints to prevent stretch marks will be much appreciated!

A day shy of 21 Weeks

I have such a sweet tooth lately, he seems to get a kick out of it, litterally!

I'm so grateful we finnally know! I'll never forget these first steps we're taking as a couple, the visit with our Doc. and seeing his little hand with his fingers near his head. These are such exciting time in our lives! So much to anticipate within the near future!

Although walking hasn't been so grand, long distances from the car to inside a building are practically impossible at moments without stopping to rest, the only way I can describe it is drinking tons of water and trying to go on a run afterwards, you'll get a side cramp and it's pretty much the same, but mine is in the middle and it doesn't take running to have the discomfort appear. It's all worth it... I'm no pro and I'm not complaining. I also can't say I've been in these shoes before, but nothing has ever held such a great meaning in my life as a Mom to-be!

Well we've started the painting process, the project consist of a dress and crib. We've decided on painting both a classic WHITE! It's a bit more than either of us realized, but the result will be a masterpiece!

Meanwhile we need help thinking of a theme for his nursery, any ideas?? Any shared will be much appreciated!

IT'S A BOY!!!! Week 20

We are so excited and feel so blessed!!! We're having a boy, Due March 6th 2009! It might of been a bit of a shock to me, but not so much to Chris! I am so happy to have a little boy!!

Week 20 is being welcomed with open arms!! I have a kick-boxer as a baby that’s most active when I lie down or sit from being up even for a small amount of time. Morning, middle of the day and evenings are most common for our bubbly baby!! It's so crazy to see my stomach move as much as it does. During the evenings before bed we like to play the guessing game of which way baby Brown is facing. We are so in love with what's going on, 3 days and counting until we have some BIG NEWS to share!!!

Nursery plans are already in the making. We’ll be changing our office into the baby’s room. As of last night we discussed where things should go & put together some idea’s we have! It might seem a bit soon to be discussing this 4 months in advance, but we’re so excited, need we wait?

Meanwhile a big project we have in store is what to do with the crib. I bought it used, but practically new from a yard sale. It had only been used once and can also be made into a day bed for when he or she becomes a toddler. It’s from Babies US and could have been up to $300 new, but fortunately for us we paid 50 bucks & called it good! However we're indecisive on the color, it’s a natural pine, but we’re thinking of changing it to either an espresso, black, traditional white or stain it? Whats your thought on it?

Week 19

Week 19 is here and we're so impressed with all that is taking place. Being almost 5 months into this pregnancy I'm pleased to announce I have a belly! It’s taking some getting use to, the discomfort of sleeping has begun, but I’m sure it’s hardly comparable to what is to come! Amongst it all, we are so happy for these exciting times!

Week 18

General Conference came and gone over the weekend. With thoughts that our next one is in 6months we'll have a new born in our arms! As a couple & 2 individuals we wont only be looking for giddiness, but also we'll be parent's preparing the way for our little one amongst the things taught by such faithful Saints spoken in Conference. I can’t emphasize, let alone comprehend all that there will be to take in. I'm so grateful for the gospel, how it has shaped me and pray it will shape our children into wonderful members.

"One message mentioned was a sweet story of a little girl that was unable to hear. At the age of 4 she had already undergone many operations. As she stood with her Mother in checkout line behind her she noticed a little boy without any legs in a wheelchair. She loudly asked her Mom why he was that way and he Mother kindly explained. The little girl than turned to face the boy and pointed out he doesn’t have any legs as she can't hear and when Christ comes they will be made perfect."

The story is from my notes and not word to word, but the message touched me. It hit me so strongly to strive in teaching my little family to live towards such eternal perspectives. My Mom installed it in me and I hope to do the same with them. 3 Nephi 11:38 "become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. "

Sunday afternoon I ran into an old friend on Temple square that ran up to me and totally felt as if it was a belly flop with the hug I was greeted with. I hope my little baby is okay, I didn't feel the best that evening, no fun. Today seems good as usual though. I'm very cautious toward our little baby! Am I crazy for being a worrier? Words of comfort are always appreciated. I just can't wait to get a close up picture of Baby Brown & as every exam I look forward to hearing it's heartbeat!!

We have good news. Our exam went well on Monday. The next BIG Appointment we have is scheduled for the afternoon of OCT 20th and will be excited to tell the world once we know. ((Stay Tunes!)) The past 4 months has taken forever, we can't wait to prepare for our little one. Baby showers in the works, names to be considered and when it comes time a baby to fit in place.

Life has been good to us. I recently rented Father Of The Bride 2, total classic. Not too mention I’m always looking for the perfect diaper bag/purse online... As for any other stores I haven't stepped inside one since I foundout! On a not so materialistic note, as a family we’ve been putting out extra effort to spiritually be prepared & fed daily. It’s a lot to take in the thought that one day we will be given someone so special and sweet, we are so excited for all that's to come. No matter enduring, enjoy the moments along the way.

Week 17, going on 18!!

ABY BROWN UPDATE!

I'm at my all time high today! I have always had a thin frame from figuring skating, but it's noticeable I have a belly and at week 17 I'm pleased to say since my last appointment 4weeks ago, I have gained at least 6lbs. Yay!!

So with the little sleep I've gotten from discomfort and constant repositioning through the night, I'm glad to know what I'm feeling is very much normal.

Here's a bit mentioned from my weekly update:

"This week, or in the coming weeks, you may be privy to the uncommon joys of “round ligament pain. These not-so-lovely symptoms can doctors advise sleeping on your left side as lying on your back can compress your pelvic veins, include bellyaches, pain in the lower abdomen and sharp shooting and/or stabbing pains, most often expressed at the end of the day. Your suffering is due to stretched ligaments and muscles that support your ever-growing uterus. This is to be expected and is perfectly normal"

Week 15!

So many butterflies to know I have something so tiny and sweet growing inside me. I get a weekly update e-mailed to me of what to expect with the pregnancy. I’m half ways through week 15 and one thing mentioned was I might have the opportunity to feel the baby move with a cough or sneeze.

As soon as I got home, I went home to try out what I had read of course! I coughed and felt such a small flutter move. I was so excited I got Chris and did the same to make sure It wasn't in my head. He felt something even though it’s almost unnoticeable, but clearly our baby's there! One thing mentioned in the book "What to expect when you're expecting" said the chances are likely for the size I'm at.

Honestly I have kept away from shops, but I keep finding cute things online for babies that make me want to prepare for ours! Color's, styles and outfits!! Soon our turn will be here, but for a sneak peak look what I found and how dang cute!

Meanwhile I’ve gained weight and I have a belly! Friends and family are part of the group that can tell and we're so thrilled to share these moments with everyone! I’ll get a photo up one of these days.

Overall we’re so excited with all the learning during this experience. I’m feeling good and my tolerance level with food is great! I can hardly wait for our exam on Monday the 29th and better yet, that day we'll be able to set up the BIG APT for weeks to come and find out the BIG NEWS....WHAT WE'RE HAVING!!

Week 14!

We had another monthly exam on Friday. Everything is going as it should be and with every sound of it's heartbeat we're literally falling for our baby. We're so excited that in less than a month we will have a clue of what we're having! Chris has been so caring towards my random hunger swings, what I can and can't handle smelling or how sensitive I am towards driving. Sat. evening I woke up at 3:00am rushing to the bathroom and remained in a state of unpleasantness for over 3hours! It's hardly this bad, but when it hits, it hits hard!! Chris was at my every need and prepared our thick comforter and quilts on the couch so I could sleep sitting up. My husband comes from a family of 12kids and has many qualities I often lack, but am learning by his example of putting others before myself in such away as he does, no matter the hour.

Many friends and family members have asked what we each would prefer, I'll honestly be happy with either a girl or boy. I admit a girl would be fun to dress up, take skating, but a Mommy's boy would be just as sweet! WHO KNOWS! We'll have to wait and see, but put in your Comment what you think we'll have! We're both comepletely clueless and have no idea.

Happy 3 Month Mark!!

This moment brings peace to our minds!! Already in less than a month we will hopefully know what we're having and the baby will be able to hear me!! We have a another monthly checkup this Friday Sep. 5 2008!

Yesterday was unexpected. I had an awful stomachache from the middle of my lower stomach that favored my right side as well. I was in pain and left work at 11:30, without keys to the house I hadn't a idea what to do. I could hardly drive to Mals and just completely laid resting on my back as she went to pick up Chris from work. I called my Doc. office and spoke with the nurse who told me to take a warm bath and take 2 Tylenols. Since I could hardly move I didn't feel like that was good enough. Chris got there to give me a blessing, with Alan help, I was feeling better right away. We setup an emergency apt. with my Doc. I was happy and asked Chris to recall some of the things he mentioned in the blessing since my focus was on the pain. Strictly from Heavenly Father he said I would be healed, I would have comfort and be filled with the spirit and that my vowels will be working right.

By the time we arrived I was walking and hardly hurting. My ultrasound went well, the baby was fine, we heard the heartbeat and saw it's little body moving with it's arms and legs!! Chris was shocked how lively and how much personality it has already! We think it was either a muscle spasm of some sort that caused my pain or bloated, which neither I had even experienced before.

We are so glad everything was is well; our baby is healthy and right where it should be. One thing hit me... I had realized just how much this pregnancy meant to me until now; I love this child of God!! We anticipate a healthy baby and opportunity to be its Mother.

The count down has already started...

Very little sickness has had an effect on me, this pregnancy has been getting better with each day. Last week I was incredibly tired, but all is well at the Browns house.

I had my second checkup this past Monday. Chris had finals all day and a huge project we both thought he would finish by the time of our Doc. appointment. However he was running short on time and had to stay at school. We were both pretty sad!

The exam went well. The test I took the last visit was mentioned for my blood results. I passed everything with flying colors; my health is in excellent condition and especially during the first trimester. I was then given an amazing opportunity to hear my little baby’s heartbeat!! I completely got teary and wish so badly Chris could have been with me. It is so real now that I heard it with my own ears. I got absolutely the best feeling. We are so excited to meet this child and spoil its life with hugs!

Onto the second Month

We’re expecting!!!

To emphasize the good news, here’s a bit of how it came about!

Who: Chris & Christy Brown, parent’s to be

What: A child of God

Where: Utah

When: July 5th. J

Why: After much prayer & Temple attendance, we’ve received our answer!

So much to anticipate, it’s was Wed. July 2nd, I took a test and it didn’t turn up as we wished. Chris came home with flowers to cheer up the day. The 4th was wonderful, but I was reluctant to believe my symptoms were unrelated. I asked my Mother in-law what her thoughts were and as a nurse any words of wisdom. Saturday morning I woke up incredibly early, which is very unlikely for our home on a weekend. Took a test and turned out positive. We were so excited we had no idea what to do next…. I called my Dad, told David who was in the car with him. Following a phone call to Chris’s Mom, with request her not to tell anyone. We hit 2 birds with 1 stone when we called Tiffany & Mal! That evening to celebrate Chris took me to the Olive Garden and had a wonderful Italian meal.

The pregnancy hasn’t been terribly hard for the first trimester. I arranged a Doctors appointment on July 18th. Our first visit was just as I imagined, unfortunately with my petite size we were unable to hear the heart beat, a disappointment with us both, but comforted with the knowledge it’s there and moving along as it should at 7weeks!

I had done well those first 7weeks without a single moment spent at the tolet. However, that following evening we carpooled with another couple to a ward campout and had a hard time with the swirly roads through the mountain. Held myself together, did great until it was time to come home. Little air in the car and ridding in the back seat was hardly tolerable and it wasn’t until we drove up to our house I ran out the car and planted myself in my garden! Such a poor moment, I was sick all day and in bed from lacking strength.

That Sunday we went to Chris’s home to celebrate his birthday and announced our good news with a gift Chris opened from his Mom with a little outfit. The rest of the family was thrilled and had the best time being able to talk with others about it finally! So much happiness, we can hardly wait until the 4th month is here to findout if it's a girl or boy!!

It’s now week 10 and I haven’t gotten sick since that terrible day. I’ve had my moments though. Little apatite seems to make eating tiring. Cravings are hard to always please and if I don’t eat right away I become sick to my stomach. Maintaining such a lifestyle has been enduring for both of us, but we’re getting by. I thankfully have a strong tolerance level to keep my food down and move forward. In the end it will be worth-wild. I am just grateful to have the chance to carry such a gift with me. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes and I'll soon emphasize on that with each day!!
